Two Projects

Two completed projects!

The first is a pair of Snicket Socks, though I did the heel and toe differently than the pattern calls for because I'm not fond of short rows. They have an interesting sort of chicken-wire look to me, though it's certainly very soft pretty chicken wire.

The second is Endpaper Mitts for [livejournal.com profile] shumashi, in her traditional Not-Matching style, though they actually don't match even more than they're supposed to, which I'm rather embarrassed about. So maybe they're not completed after all. Also, I find it interesting to look at the patterns - in both of them, the dark brown looks to me like the "pattern", and the light rose-brown is the "background". Does it look like that to other people?

On the one with the rose border it looks like that - on the one with the brown border I think rose is the 'pattern' color.

And I'm very impressed at your rate of sock churning-out. Out of curiousity do you (or have you ever tried) the 'two socks at once' technique. I read about it once, although I don't remember where.

I haven't tried two socks at once, though I did try two sleeves at the same time once. I found that it confused me far too much when I put it down and picked it up again - which direction was I going? I think I ended up with a couple of extra rows here or there, as I accidentally turned around in the middle.

Were you knitting the sleeves flat? You don't get as confused when you do two things in the round at the same time, because it's always obvious which direction you should be going.

Oh, good point. Well, except for the heel flaps, I suppose. :)
