Leafy Green Shawl

At the yarn store in Utrecht (I really need to finish writing+captioning up this trip), I bought some single-ply laceweight green yarn, because while I've made a number of lace shawls, none of them have been green.    When I came home, I noted that I have done this twice previously, about every two years.    

So as to avoid buying more green laceweight in 2019, I made a green lace shawl.   I'm pleased with how it came out, though I wouldn't mind having a better background for the picture.

The pattern is well written, so I wouldn't call it hard. It does require paying attention (for half the rows), but not concentration. :)

(Why? Do you want one? Not enough people want lace shawls!)

Huh, interesting. Just trying to get a sense of how difficult it is. :)

I don't think it's the right look for me, alas. It'd make a fantastic signature piece of costuming, that's for sure, but if you charge a reasonable rate, I imagine that'd put it out of most people's costuming budgets.

Yeah, that's why I only give people things and don't sell them; "a reasonable rate" turns out way too expensive. :)

I've been thinking about the question of how difficult something is. Running a mile would be freaking hard for me, it's probably not hard for you. A lace shawl is not hard for me, it would probably be hard for you. :) (A badly-written pattern could be difficult for anyone).

* Making this shawl requires three levels in knitting, including one level along the Lacework specialization track, and requires the first-level ChartReading feat

* It doesn't count as a lacework PR for me, so it wasn't hard.

(I think lace shawls are in the same category as art supplies for me: want, yes; will actually use, probably not much. :) )
