Busy...

It's funny that [livejournal.com profile] tirinian has thought of this as downtime, and I've been thinking of it as busy. (Well, no, actually, there's probably some causality there. (But he helped me paint, and helped [livejournal.com profile] harrock rearrange, so we're getting our fair share of work...))

Anyway. Shopping for the housewarming (Sunday the 12th at 3, for those of you who have forgotten or are still dithering about whether you're coming) was tonight. [livejournal.com profile] ilhander took me to Formaggio, which is in the part of Cambridge I cannot find without help, and I acquired Decadent Cheese. And other things to eat. Painting was last night, and tonight. Final putting the upstairs together, and final cooking, Friday and Saturday. I was worried for a while that it wasn't going to be done in time, but things are back on track again.

I am, as always, amazed by ibuprofen's ability to make things that hurt stop hurting.

And, more pictures.

You could be our special guest star! :-)

Although crash space for all of you might be stretching our resources a bit. Hmm. I guess the upstairs will be done by then.

There's crash space up here in the Boondocks. But we do appreciate what an undertaking overnight trips with the kiddies are...

Sadly, our architect just called (hello! naptime!) and rescheduled tonight's meeting for Sunday. (This was not unexpected - well, not the Sunday part, but the appointment didn't go through proper channels and we suspected it would come up against a conflict.)

So no trip for us. Maybe I'll sleep!

As noted below, I was more likely to stay elsewhere. While my kids may be cute (although this is not a guareentee...) if you're not used to kids they really ought to go away at the end of the day.

Which means the housewarming gift is in the mail (and may even reach you by Saturday?)

Besides, I need to get ready to go argue with the town on Monday evening about whether we should get sidewalks here. Any advice?

Yeah. Plus the kids are happier to be someplace with toys and that is kid friendly.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Sidewalks- are good. Alas they seem out of favor with those who like to drive everywhere. And I gather somewhat expensive to put in. Your town has lots of sidewalks? Is your street merely one of the ones without? Is that what you are arguing for?

What politican wants headlines about little kids getting killed by cars, instead of support from a Million Mom March?
