Whee. We re-ran Reindeer Games last night, and most people, including the GMs, had fun. [livejournal.com profile] visage was a much more Sluggy-Freelance genre Santa than the first set. No matter how cheerily he says "Ho, ho ho", everyone shivers. Calvin and Hobbes are probably the part of the game that's most flat-out fun for the GMs to watch; [livejournal.com profile] ironrat and his Hobbes were clearly taken from the squabblier strips than M&D were, but they were no less entertaining. The poor Grinch never wins - he has the misfortune to have one of the only plots that's actually opposed by someone else (there are many ways in which it's a fluffy game, and the fact that martial combat just makes you sit down and say Oof is only part of it). No pockets for elves this time, but they did have a lovely touching funeral for Rudolph, which was new (and impressive, given the tightness of the schedule already).

Funny how so many people who played in the first set of runs said "But didn't you run it near Christmas last time?"

Really, I would be sad if the Grinch won. It would defeat much of the feel of the game for me.

<blinkblink> But it's Santa's dude ranch! Of course the game runs in the summer! If anything, August is a little late for it.

I'd be sad if the destroy-the-world plot won in *any* of my games. But I can still feel sorry for them when they get squashed. :}
