More Socks

I finally finished the Austermann Step socks, started on the New York trip, then unravelled when the cable wasn't right, then started again, then unravelled again when the cable was not-right again, then finally knit correctly. I'm not sure why this cable (Rapunzel's Toe Braid) seems to thwart me so badly, especially since it was perfectly well-behaved once I got started for the third time.

They came out well. I have a skein of that colorway too, slated to become a pair of socks for mijven but not until fall.

The color-timing was particularly good, too; I barely had to cut off any yarn between finishing the toe of sock 1 in brown, to get it to start sock 2 in white.

Hmm. But I just did a sweater for mjperson, and one for fredrickegerman, so that just leaves shumashi on my list of people who want sweaters... :)
