Origami and Other Stuff

As part of playing tourist with harrock's mom, we (plus Kye) went to see the origami exhibit, plus a lot of everything else, at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. Here's my favorite of the origami, and also the 17th-century depiction of an alien abduction, in netsuke:

It's been a couple years since I was at the PEM, but the carved ivory was really impressive. I think my favorite piece was the carved tusk on an ebony base (http://pics.livejournal.com/twe/pic/0003fb7g/g44)which is I think part of their permanent collection. (I remember seeing the Moon Bed too.)

The origami exhibit definitely looks worth a visit.
