Two little projects

A Hat with a Deadline ([livejournal.com profile] mjperson said "Don't be silly, of course you can make a hat by Friday" on Tuesday. Happily, he was right), and a Murloc.

RRLLLRLlrlrlrrllgggllllrrrrr.....

wow, a murloc. that's pretty funny. :)

Hmm. How hard would it be to knit a Death Star? ;)

Well, how complicated should a Death Star be? I've gotten really quite good at Crocheted Spheres, so "a grey sphere with a dent in it" isn't hard at all. Having a trench and laser cannons is probably harder. :)

Clearly, as complicated as is amusing to you. :)

I want to say that the notable bits are, in order:
1, superlaser dish
2, dark equatorial band
3, north-south darker bands at irregular intervals

I wonder if you could have the superlaser firing, and have it be structually supported by knitting around, say, twist ties or somesuch.

Hmm, going off into la-la-land, for a Star Destroyer, I'd say it's
1, twin spherical shield generators on the bridge superstructure
2, three main engines,
3, hangar bay on the bottom

But I have no idea how easy/hard it'd be to make a four-sided pyramid and then adding a bridge superstructure on top. :)

What was the occasion for the hat-on-a-deadline?
