ART: Seagull

1. I have an insufficiency of bleak Russian despair in my soul to properly appreciate Chekhov, I think. If this were not the case, I would probably have liked The Seagull quite a lot.
2. I applaud and admire Mickey Solis, who went above and beyond the call of duty in his dedication to the core principle of the ART, for seeking out the deepest puddle on the stage in order to writhe on the floor in the middle of it.

Yeah, I can just never get into the Great Russian Literature. Bleak and depressing isn't my genre.

I sure started out thinking, "Huh, they did actually flood parts of the stage...I guess that's it for the writhing." Boy, was I wrong.

No, just the traditional sort of flat pile of water. (It rained in the second act; the first act was just splashy.)
