I think my preference is for something on the sillier side of things. I'd be happy with socks or a hat or a stuffed animal or...

I currently live in warm-climate-land so if clothing-ish then things on the more summer-weight end would be better.

Well, there's flying spaghetti monster (http://www.flickr.com/photos/7549806@N03/2615033712) level silly, or Dwarven Battle Helmet and Beard (http://www.flickr.com/photos/13457868@N03/2786800226) silly...

(Or bunnies or katamari).

Or I could just surprise you! :)

Wow, neat! This has made me tempted to get into sock knitting, even though it is probably a bad idea. :-)

Your travel schedule makes it tough to try to hit you with a mailed package, but I note that you're seeing [livejournal.com profile] desireearmfeldt, so I'll try sending them with her. :)

um, my mom requested a neutral beige-y type color, for maximum versatility. Do you need any measurements from me?

[identity profile] firstfrost.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems to come in chest measurements of 35.5, 38, 42, 45, 48 inches (XS through XL), but if measuring your mom's bust is too embarassing, picking a size should be fine. :)

[identity profile] twe.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
I just met her mom. I say go with XS.

(Anonymous) 2009-03-31 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, I would say XS for certain, my mom is teeny, like a size 0-2.

[identity profile] treiza.livejournal.com 2009-04-02 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
okay, yes, in fact, 35.5 is more than enough, even a bit large. My mom wanted to know how long it will be? She'd like a vest that's maybe 24" - 25" long. if the pattern isn't that long, is it possible to add some at the bottom?

[identity profile] firstfrost.livejournal.com 2009-04-02 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, it should be possible to make it an arbitrary length - it looks like it's a straight shot between the first and last buttons, so it can end up however long. :) It also ought to be possible to pull it in a little smaller than 35.5, once I've made some swatches.

And thanks, by the way! She's really excited!
