Long Weekend

Following the lazy week of nothing scheduled, it has been something of a lazy weekend as well. I have gotten disenchanted with fancy dinners on Valentine's Day itself (I don't really hold it against the restaurants, but being extra-busy seems to make them prone to lameness or, sometimes, stunning ineptitude), so
harrock and I tried OM for brunch. They had a somewhat minimal buffet rather than a menu, and it was less adventurous than their menu often is, but the crab cakes were delicious and the bacon was some of the best I've had. We'll go to Salts on Tuesday for actual fancy dinner out.
Then there was movies-to-celebrate-
mjperson-being-less-sick. The headline movie was Colossus: The Forbin Project, apparently the first in the "NORAD computer goes rogue" genre, and I was not expecting the ending. "This is the voice of World Control. I bring you peace. It may be the peace of plenty and content or the peace of unburied death. The choice is yours: Obey me and live, or disobey and die." The peace of unburied death. Creepy. Then, Forbidden Kingdom, one of the inspirations for Dragon, because
tirinian and
harrock hadn't seen it. It perhaps explains why we are so fond of Monkeys.
