More socks! These were fun to make, though I'd have to go up a needle size for me to be willing to put them on on a regular basis. (As advertised, they're not a bad fit once they're on, but they're very tight to put on, because knitting stretches less along the diagonal than along horizontal or vertical.) [livejournal.com profile] twe gets them, since her feet are skinnier than mine.

Just the sweater for [livejournal.com profile] shumashi to go, and then it's another round of projects!

Baby S would love some baby legs if you're looking for a break from socks (they're basically leg warmers/socks with no feet. Call her size 12 months or larger)

I shall investigate patterns!

That looked pretty nice in person and I like the colors. But what is the draw of this pattern again? I don't get why people would want a sock that's hard to put on...

Well, "looks interesting" is part of it. There's something of a tradeoff, that very stretchy socks can get baggy, while less stretchy socks can be more snug and arch-supportive, I guess. But I think the intention is not actually to be *annoyingly* hard to get on, just slightly harder, but my heel-instep distance is larger than works for it.

It's definitely harder for me to get them on than a regular sock, but it's more nicely snug on my foot afterwards. Strangely, it's not that hard to get them off. And they do look cool. Plus now I have a pair without having to knit them myself. :)

What yarn is it made out of?

It's numma numma saucy. I do like the way it feels, and it comes in a very large skein, but that particular yarn was terribly cursed. I think this was the third pair of socks to be attempted.
