My nieces continue to be fascinated by knitting - last time I was there, Amelia helped put beads on for the lace shawl I was working on then. They were also intrigued by the idea of Shawls, though it was kind of hard for them to try it on while it was on the needles. Amelia then declared that she thought I should make a shawl for Isabelle, who is into Princesses. So I did. This is also a nice experiment with this color changing yarn - I don't do a lot with cotton, but it worked out well, and a four-year-old probably doesn't need silk lace. :)

Niftiness!

Do you have to pick the points for the four color changes, or are all the changes already engineered into the skein and you have to pick a skein the right size for your project, or ...?

All the changes are already engineered into the skein. I actually tweaked the shawl to aim for the length of the skein, though I ended up miscalculating a little and having to adjust on the fly. (The pattern comes in two sizes, and I picked something midway between).

Ah, I was wondering about that skein when you posted that picture ...
