Scarflet
This is not the scarf I meant to make out of this yarn (I meant to make this scarf), but somehow the yarn store fooled me into buying a laceweight pattern with a sportweight yarn, and it just didn't work.
But this one is nice too. Everything Anne Hanson designs is lovely, and the yarn is a merino/cashmere/silk, so it's very pettable. Does anyone want to give this a good home?
In terms of other things people might want, I'm starting to get a large pile of leftover half-skeins of yarn, which seems to work well for making things like amigurumi octopodes so if anyone has a particular desire for a small stuffed animal of some type, but is flexible about the color, let me know.
Speaking of which, I think *someone* asked me about making another squid hat recently. If it was you, please remind me who you were!

My grandmother just sent me a much simpler scarf with the similar idea of having a hole that you tuck the end through. It's a pretty cute design.
PS, in searching for pictures of echindas (for a completely unrelated thing) I found these cute crochet'd echidnas (http://crochetroo.blogspot.com/search/label/echidna) I thought you might also think were cute. :-) I didn't find a pattern, though.

I suppose that's actually an octopus, but the pointy head seems more squid-like to me.

You have to give them your email address to see their patterns, or you can cheat and get it out of the google cache (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:58lrK4-LZMIJ:www.lionbrand.com/patterns/70588AD.html+lion+brand+octopus&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a&source=www.google.com).
