I finished this sweater for [livejournal.com profile] ilhander, which seems to have taken closer to forever than I might have expected. The original pattern is a vest; I added set-in sleeves to the armholes, which I am somewhat proud of figuring out, as sleeve caps are always a little mystifying to me. Blocking seems to have widened the V neck a bit; I can never seem to block sweaters without stretching one part or another. It's made with a Brown Sheep sport weight, which was an interesting change from the standard one-ply mohair-containing worsted that I use all the time. Who knew they had so many other yarns?

That is fantastic work, and it looks fabulous on him. wow. And no wonder it took so long. Sport weight for an adult sweater is gorgeous but so... many... stitches... augh...

I admire your "make a sweater for a person" ability. The only sweater I've made turned out to be "Huh. This is not for me. Now I shall find the person I made this for."

Heh, I am actually very hard to motivate to make things for myself. Someone else being enthusiastic about a thing is much more gratifying than having a thing! :)

I do sometimes make things for someone that turn out to be for someone else too, like the sweater that was too small for [livejournal.com profile] mjperson and [livejournal.com profile] desireearmfeldt yoinked, which was funny. :)
