I swear, these things multiply like octopodes. Knit Picks was out of the orange in the bulky weight yarn that I used for the others, so I got sport weight and knit with it doubled. It always seems to me that doubling up yarn would make the fabric lumpy - after all, two cylinders next to each other don't really make a larger cylinder - but it always works the way it's supposed to. And that's why two-ply yarns work at all (though they tend to twist together more than I do when knitting double).
