Experimental Socks

Vinnland is a nice travelling stitch pattern, but you can't really see the details here, especially because I decided to not put pattern on the back of the leg. This particular pair is only really interesting because I decided to try out Cat Bordhi's Sweet Tomato Heel, which does shallow short row wedges.
I'm not usually a fan of short row heels, but I like these. I didn't think there would be enough gusset, but that's not really a problem. (
metak thinks that heels aren't shaped like that, but I think they're not really any less heel-shaped than the right angle corner of a standard flap and gusset sock). However, I did make the feet a little too long ("work toe-up until you get to the hinge of your foot" is farther than most toe-up socks go before starting to worry about the heel), oh well.
