Green Hatscarf

This is another Christmas present request, an extra-bonus-warm alpaca hatscarf, to allow Jess to brave the terrible and icy winters of Sebastopol. And a matching octopus.

The top is increase-6-every-round, but it goes up to 24. So instead of decrease-6, then decrease-6-and-make-legs, I switched to decrease-8-and-make-legs down from 24, then work even, then decrease-8. (Then decrease-3, because decreasing 4 doesn't fit).

Sense! Were mini-octopodes more appreciated? (I certainly thought the integral legs were easier to wrangle in the making, though being able to stand up is also nifty.)

It's mostly convenience. The minis are a lot faster, and take a lot less yarn. Plus since they're so much smaller, they're easier to give to random strangers.

Will there be random octopodes distributed locally as well as in distant lands? :)

That's my theory, though I have only succeeded in giving them to children I already know, and not little kids on the train yet.
