I knit these, mostly, on the boat. Whee! The yarn (Plucky Knitter, "Primo Fingering") is lovely to work with, with a bit of cashmere for soft and a bit of nylon for strong, and the color is an interesting grey that keeps suggesting that it might be thinking about being blue-grey or green-grey but hasn't made up its mind. However, I was a little short, as you can see. A new benefit of making socks two at a time: they still match! The pattern is called "Francie", and does interesting things with the shaping. (The sole of the foot is particularly cool-looking; I didn't take a picture of that, but see here for the designer's picture.)

Apparently I have been lax in posting pictures of other completed items, so here are some more that missed getting listed in the past couple of years.

This was a Mystery Sock for the Sock Knitters Anonymous group in Ravelry. It's a sideways sock with fun colorwork plus some cabling. I really loved the first half of the colorwork (the greens and the red-brown); the second half was fine but didn't make me think I MUST USE THIS SOMEWHERE ELSE.

This was for [livejournal.com profile] mjperson's nephew. The nephew actually lives in New York, so please do not consider this heresy.

Hmm, I seem to be missing a lot of socks in here. This yarn was picked by my sster-in-law, so it's socks for her. I shamelessly stole the yarn/pattern combination from someone else on Ravelry; it's Skew, which I've made before a couple of times, and works very well for stripes.

Oh! And I did actually post about the Appalling Tea Cosy before! http://firstfrost.livejournal.com/208600.html

So here is a picture of [livejournal.com profile] justom wearing it. (Wait. Did I really have to mail it to myself to get it out of iPhoto ? That can't be right.)

Wow. I completely missed the tea cozy the first time around. I don't think it's appalling at all. :-) And I had no idea that tea cozies made such good hats.

Many nifty socks! The vertical stripe socks (and the alternate-color toes) seem like fun ways to use up extra bits of sock yarn.
