Saturday: helped Kye move. Sunday: helped [livejournal.com profile] twe and small portions of [livejournal.com profile] baronet move. I ended up being the the self-appointed bucket-brigade tyrant: "Why are you walking on the stairs? Stop that! Stand there! You! Stand there!" More annoying than I usually am (and perhaps unnecessary for people like [livejournal.com profile] justom who blithely sprint up and down stairs while carrying furniture), but I have no remorse. I didn't die of exhaustion or wake in the morning unable to move, and I think most other people ended up better off too.

Monday: the second coat of paint on the kitchen cabinets, and the first coat of paint on the pantry cabinets.

Tuesday: Interview with a Contractor. This went well. He seemed to know what he was doing, and was pleasant, and was early (in fact, he had been even more early, but sat in the car making phone calls so as not to be too early, which would have been more appreciated had I actually been asleep beforehand). And painting the pantry cabinets some more, and starting on the hall closet (which, after washing, was an entirely different color, but still not a good color). And prowling around with paint chips decrying the number of different colors of white all in the same place.

And there's been the program for Lion in Winter in here somewhere, and getting the car to and from the fixit place, and some fifty pieces of Oath email... and brunch! Brunch was good. I've completely been failing to delegate a timeline to Vatican, though.

Would it be easier to just pick a color of white that you like and paint everything that color? Just curious...

I'm trying to avoid actually repainting everything. :) I'd like to touch up a few nicks and scuffs, which is a smaller scale project than repainting *all* the trim, but does require matching. (There's the "polar bear" that the trim in the living room is, and the "off-white" that most all the other trim is, and the "palatial white" that one door is, but the door in question doesn't need touching up (and might end up going away, because it's unlikely to ever be shut)).

It might make sense to shut that door in the winter so that blasts of cold air don't head straight for the sitting room.

Ooh. Right. Other seasons, that are not this one.
