Irrelevant Aside Rant

So, DC has a miniseries called Identity Crisis about bad guys going after the DNPCs of the heroes. In issue #4, there's a crime scene, and the characters say okay, we need to call in the big gun to figure out what's going on here. So they call in... Superman. Who identifies the knot used, because he used to be a Boy Scout. (Now, I know Boy Scouts are ridiculously overpowered, but that's a different subject entirely).

Now, I could barely forgive them in earlier issues for having Batman overlook some basic forensics, to be caught by the magic/mystical detective types. Because okay, if your concept is a detective, magic helps.

But, for crying out loud, when you're talking about bringing in the "big gun" detective, you don't mean Superman!

Hmf.

I convince myself that, had they been letting Batman drive the investigation more seriously, they wouldn't need an entire miniseries to figure it out.

Humph indeed!

Superman? No way! Batman is The Detective.

Somebody needs their comic writing licenses siezed, if you ask me...
