I am... imitating tirinian.

I have... created a new album theme! Yay me!

I can... eat the scary bits of cheese now. Like moldy rinds. I think I'd still draw the line before that French cheese with the worms in it, though.

I should... go and get a new beater bar for the mini-vacuum attachment. Long hair is the vacuum-killer. Sigh.

I will... have too many upset people to deal with next week. (this weekend is Athena account deactivation)

Album themes

What's in a theme anyway? Is it jsut changing the colors and graphics files, or can a theme rearrrange the look of the page? I've always wanted to put the pictures above the sub-albums and not have the first slot in the sub-album table taken entirely up by the "More Albums" graphic, but rather have it the row above with a colspan=N. If a theme can do that, it would be worth making a new one. :)

Well, this one is just changing the colors and graphics, but more complex ones rearrange the page completely. (The London sub-album uses a riff on Story, which has the pictures down the sides, and a text file in the middle, and StoryCaption has pictures on the edges and captions in the middle).

It's written in not-completely-obfuscated perl, so I've been thinking it could be interesting to try and generate something that looks like my Socks log (one picture on the left, caption in the middle, then one picture on the right, caption on the middle), but I haven't quite gotten the zen of it yet.

The byline keeps changing! It's amusing and yet also distracting.

I've found that if I'm willing to clean the hair off the beater bar at least every other vacuuming or so, it has a much better survival rate, but it is an annoying task.

I clean the beater bar pretty much every time it's used - the problem with the mini-beater is that hair was getting through a tiny crank on the side and winding around the shaft, inside the beater, so cleaning it meant prying the end off each time. After enough times of prying the end off, the end wasn't so flat any more, and now the end spins into the beater-holder. :-\

(The byline is inherited from the theme I based it off of. I had noticed that it changes between album and image pages, (plus different for the london pages too), and was too amused by it to go fix.)

The byline seems to vary from picture to picture, too, not just between the albums and the images.

Gosh! All of a sudden I'm no longer confused as to which pictures I've seen and which I haven't! (BTW, while party people pictures are quite amusing, I'm mostly taken with the grinning teeth picture that LEAPS right off the page! Woo!)

BTW, if you want more wedding photos, I can send the high-res ones off of the boys' site. (29months/wedding) Hmmm. It appears that I never finished processing that directory because twe's pictures aren't online!
