I feel like too many people don't like Christopher's. I quite like it, but too many of my friends don't. So I never get to eat there. Curses!

Yeah, I remember thinking that when I lived in Boston. In which I was one of the peope who did like Christopher's.

But yes, unless Charles's tastes have changed, he likes Christopher's, because that's where his thirtieth birthday party was.

Whereas I have been to Christopher's all of once since it transformed itself from a random seedy burger joint, and that once was, um...in 1994?

So I have no idea if I like Christopher's. All I know is it's a religious issue. :) Probably means I'd find it OK; my religious issues are always out of step with everyone else's.

Do all restaurant preferences end up being religious issues? (small differences causing large differences in opinion is mostly how I parse that). Because "where do we go for dinner" is really not one of those things that anyone ever cares really strongly about, so even a medium preference ends up weighing a lot more strongly than it would for something else?

Mm, I more meant "things people take sides strongly about" than whether the things are big or small. And I don't think of all restaurant preferences as being religious issues (for example, I don't tend to think of mjperson's dedication to Uno's that way...not sure what the difference is, though.)

Hmm. I'm not sure I've met anyone actually religious (by that definition) about Christopher's, then. Religious about hating Sound Bites, perhaps, and religious in favor of Mary's when it was gone. But does anyone actually care that strongly about Christopher's as to launch crusades against it? :)
