Air Chathams (http://www.airchathams.co.nz/) is based in the Chatham Islands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chatham_Islands), which look like this (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/Chatham_Islands_from_space_ISS005-E-15265.jpg) from space, and like this (http://www.chathams.com/gifs/chatmap2.gif) on a map and like this (http://www.sll.fi/mpe/chatham/chathambig.jpg) on a map in Finland.

So, did you recognize the island shapes? Or if not, how the heck did you figure that out? (I poked around a little for airline logos, but all the collections I found were either too small or too enormous.)

Gulls

According to this (http://www.teara.govt.nz/1966/G/Gulls/Gulls/en), the gray-backed gulls have a red-billed and black-billed species.

This bit seems dreadfully unfair:

In the immature stages of the red- and black-billed gulls, there is some brown mottling on shoulders and wings, and a stage is passed through when the young red-billed gull has a black bill and the young black-billed gull a red bill

I experimented on some non-Americans at work, and collected the following data:

Melbourne, Australia: partway between glay-shur and glay-see-ur
England: glay-see-ur
South England: glah-see-ur, with the exposition that English from north of London say glay-see-ur, because the South English want to sound posh.
