Sometimes things just come together. At [livejournal.com profile] justom's party, the combination of Sesame Street reminisces and discussion of the El Bulli restaurant in Spain led to mad experimentation in the kitchen to create A Glass Of Cookie Juice. And, in fact, it turned out to be a fairly successful rendition of a liquid chocolate chip cookie. (We decided we didn't have the ingredients, time, or equipment to make a wafer of milk to eat with it, but we did have some ideas...)

And: "Laura and Victor together are nearly a von Neumann machine of trouble." Hee!

We used white sugar, because we couldn't find brown. I think brown would have been a little better for proper cookie taste. :)

It was pretty cookie-tasting as it was, though.

What I could taste before I went off into my corner to have a coronary... ;)

The weird thing is that it, I think, tasted much worse for you than it actually was. There was way more milk than either sugar or butter in it, but because it was so thick, the mouthfeel was all about "oooh, rich!". But the thickness was due to the flour. :) Nobody claims they're going to go off and die from a sip of pudding.

And there was certainly no more butter (or anything else) in that than in a couple of actual cookies. :)

(Or, think of it as the moral equivilant of eggnog. Except without the eggs. Granted, that gives some people coronaries too, but...)

Definitely came off as richer than eggnog. Roux-based drinks, who'd'a thunk it?
