Project Completed, Sort of
Mar. 13th, 2007 12:24 pmI nearly finished the grey Aran for
mjperson before the New Zealand trip; blocking and adding the collar had to wait until I got back. Sadly, it didn't magically get bigger while I was gone, nor did blocking make the sleeves and body particularly longer, so it still ended up a little small, and thus he's deeded it to
desireearmfeldt. Maybe next winter they can wear them together and be twins!
An annoying number (though luckily not the majority) of the sweaters that I make seem to turn out oddly the wrong size; this one may have gone awry due to being a women's pattern, but the weirdest awryage is when I knit the same sweater for my sister, using the same cotton yarn but a different color, and it turned out larger. That sounds like it has to be my fault, but she tells me that whenever she washes it, it stretches, and the original gets smaller when she washes it. Something weird going on there.
