Project Completed, Sort of

I nearly finished the grey Aran for [livejournal.com profile] mjperson before the New Zealand trip; blocking and adding the collar had to wait until I got back. Sadly, it didn't magically get bigger while I was gone, nor did blocking make the sleeves and body particularly longer, so it still ended up a little small, and thus he's deeded it to [livejournal.com profile] desireearmfeldt. Maybe next winter they can wear them together and be twins!

An annoying number (though luckily not the majority) of the sweaters that I make seem to turn out oddly the wrong size; this one may have gone awry due to being a women's pattern, but the weirdest awryage is when I knit the same sweater for my sister, using the same cotton yarn but a different color, and it turned out larger. That sounds like it has to be my fault, but she tells me that whenever she washes it, it stretches, and the original gets smaller when she washes it. Something weird going on there.

It's all part of my nefarious Secret Sweater Acquisition Plan. Mwa ha ha.

SSAP?

It may be the pattern

It may not be you. I assumed it was me when I made that sweater and it came out a bit more snug that I was expecting. Of course I'd been going for oversized, so it turned out OK. I thought it must have just been me because the next pattern I did from that book did turn out a even more oversized than I'd been trying for. Sorry, I should have cautioned you.

On the plus side there will actually be three of us in the same sweater. FYI, mine is done in Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride too, just a slightly darker grey.

At least by the end of the second one, I will have the knack of popcorns!

Well, if there are going to be three of you in it, it's a good thing it's oversized...

Maybe it's thermally unstable!

I think there's a chirality inversion in one of her alternate timelines and she forgot to compensate for that in the pattern.
